If your rug is back-ordered, we will contact you by phone or email. If it is not possible to ship to your location by land, you will be advised of the shipping cost before your order is shipped.

At TheRugDistrict.com, we want to make the returns process as easy and pain free as possible. We strive to provide 100% satisfaction on every order. Not happy? If you're not completely satisfied, you can return your product within 30 days for a refund or exchange, it's your choice. If the rug arrives damaged or defective we must be notified and Photo sent to us within 7 days of receipt and we will replace the rug or mirror for you without any additional shipping charges. Custom-made items are returnable for shipping damage only.

Returns are easy! Just follow these 4 steps:

1. All you need to do is fill out this brief form and we will contact you with your required* Return Authorization number. You may also call (877) 772-6674.

2. Rugs need to be repackaged like new in the original packaging or an equivalent of the original packaging. RA# needs to be on the outside of the packaging.

3. The customer is responsible for the return shipping.

4. When we receive the rug in the original condition your credit card will be refunded or an exchange can be made, which ever you prefer. Credits may take up to 10 days to process.

*All returns MUST have a Return Authorization number and instructions prior to sending back. Fanmats may be exchanged in the case of damaged products only. Returned rugs must be in original unused condition. Returned rug may be refused or assessed fee if soiled, pet hair or stains are present.

* Estimated business days to ship. Expect longer delivery times for remote locations and oversized rugs (longer than 9'). Custom & braided rugs take longer (up to 4-5 weeks). Our customer service will keep you up to date with the delivery schedule for all rugs.

Rug Size Guide

Living Room

Living rooms rugs are some of the most essential home décor elements, and are generally a main focus of the room. The most common size area rug for a living room is 9' x 12'', however it all depends on the room’s dimensions.

First task, measure the room's dimensions and be sure to center the rug. Allow for 1 to 2 feet of floor clearance from any surrounding walls. Second task, consider the size and placement of the furniture in the room. For furniture placed against the wall, an 8’x 10’ or 6’x 9’ area rug will also work well.

Rug sizes based on couch sizes and configurations:

1. Large sectional couches will generally require 10’x 14’ or 9’x 12’ rugs.

2. Average-sized sectional couches will generally require 9' x 12'' or 8' x 10'' rugs.

3. Small sectional couches will generally work best with 4' x 6'', 5' x 7'', or 6' x 9'' rugs.

Tip: The front legs of the couch and any accent chairs should rest on the area rug. However, the back legs may, or may not, rest on the rug, depending on the size of the furniture and the room's dimensions.

Dining Room

An area rug can help to complete the dining area and should be large enough to accommodate the dining room table and all four legs of each dining room chair. Even when the chairs are pushed back from the table, the chair

legs should still rest on the area rug. Start by measuring the room and dining room set dimensions. Generally, a 9' x 12'' rug is perfect to fit under a seven-piece dining set (consisting of 6 chairs and a table).

Large ROOMS

For extremely large dens, bedrooms, large sized living rooms with seating and dining sets, we recommend larger area rugs such as 10' x 14'' or even 12' x 15''. These sizes work perfectly for covering most of the floor surface, or

providing wall-to-wall rug coverage. TIP: Use tape to temporarily outline the rug's ideal positioning, and then use a measuring tape to find the exact length of the perimeter.

Kids Bedroom

For a kid's bedroom, choose an area rug that is big enough to be placed underneath the bottom of the bed. For this, a 7' x 10'' area rug should generally work even if placed under a full-size bed.

Twin-size bed: A 5' x 8'' rug will generally fit perfectly under a twin bed, and will provide enough of a border all around. Alternatively, two 4' x 6'' (or smaller) rugs will also fit nicely on both sides of the bed.

KING BED RUG Sizing

For a King-size bed: A 9' x 12'' area rug is generally a perfect fit. The rug will sit entirely under the bed and nightstands, with an approximate extra 2' of soft rug around the bed.

QUEEN BED RUG SIZING

For a Queen-size bed: An 8' x 10'' area rug will provide full coverage under a queen-size bed and a nightstand on either side. A 6' x 9'' rug will give a nearly 18'' border on both sides of the queen bed.
